Ted
"Here are Ted (fawn) and Zack (white) resting easy after two months in their new home in Virginia . Two of the sweetest dogs we could ever rescue and are loved more than we can express. They give us great joy every day. Thank you PAWS for helping to bring these two boys into our lives! If Ted and Zack could talk, they would thank you, too. Merry Christmas to everyone at PAWS, two-legged and four!!" All the best, Mandy Spiller and John Tomillon
Angel, now Penny
The O'Neill family does it again! Last year, they drove a long distance to find a beautiful Lab/Shepherd mix named Sawyer who had waited at the shelter for many months until the best family imaginable came along. And they have just adopted Angel, a courtesy listing for PAWS' friends at the Isle of Wight Humane Society. Together with the O'Neills' resident Jack Russell, Luke, this is an altogether elated doggie trio. The O'Neills write:
"Betty,
It was good to speak with you last week. Thanks for your patience with our change of plans to visit with Kim to see Angel. I noticed you have removed Angel from your site. That is the correct decision, since Angel (renamed Penny, after the character "Penny Lane" in the movie "Almost Famous") has adjusted extremely well and has become immediate, fast friends with Simon (formerly Sawyer from your shelter) and our old JR, Luke. Incredible how they were big buddies after 1 day.
Both your operations are doing a wonderful job. Please drop by and see your foster children when you have a moment.
Well that's the 2009 rescue program. Caitlin's annual contribution to help abused animals (although we've told her NO more ;-). The magic touch of the ladies at Paws of Hertford County and associates (IOWCHS) have brought hope for the animals and lots of joy to the lucky adopters."
Best regards,
Gary & Maria O'Neill
Otto, now Ace
Otto, renamed Ace because of his adoption at an ACE Hardware adoption fair, relaxes on the couch with his boy Gunter Early. Happy Otto lives in the country with his family, enjoying lots of room to run and lots of other pups, kitties, and horses to have fun with. Months in a lonely shelter kennel are only a distant memory for this lucky fellow.
Harvey, now Henry
From Jim King: "This is newest new member of our family Henry. (You knew him as Harvey when he was at the shelter). We adopted him from PAWS on April 14,2009. At the time he was adpoted we were told that he was about 7 months old. That put his birthdate in August, 08. Since my birthday is August 21, Henry and I celebrate our our birthdays on the same date. Enclosed you will find pictures of Henry with most of our family. Chris (my son) is missing as he is the photographer. We hope you enjoy the pictures of Herny celebrating his first birthday (sitting at the kitchen table with his cake and ice cream). You will also find a picture of Dixie (the white german sheppard) that my son Jamie adopted from PAWS about 2 years ago. They (Jamie and his wife Melissa, Dixie, Macy, another PAWS puppy, and a new kitten Sassy, a PAWS kitten adopted at Heritage Day) live next door to us so when everyone is together at is like a PAWS family reunion.
Thanks for helping us add so which to our families in so many ways."
