Addie
Greg Vick writes:
"Here are some pictures of our puppy we adopted. This is Addison "Addie" Vick. She's fitting in quite well, loves attention as well as giving it, and to this point, and house training is going like a breeze so far. She had a checkup with Dr. Bradshaw on Wednesday, and Wanda said she believes she is 11-12 weeks old. She is so well behaved, it's unbelievable. I had several people ask where we got her while waiting Wednesday and were there any more, so I hope and pray someone has or is on the way to get Sis."
Aires
Patty and Jeff Llewellyn write: "To all my friends at Paws....... My name is Aries. I was adopted in Jan. 09 and this is my new home. I spend my days chasing moles, rabbits, and squirrels. My parents say that I am perfect! In fact I didn't do any of the things that my previous owners said I did. Thanks to PAWs I had the opportunity to prove that and have my forever home. Well, I got to go.....plenty of things to do out here!"
Avery
This is Savannah, known as Avery during her shelter stay. Avery spent weeks at the shelter before being treated for heartworms by the PAWS Second Chance Fund. Two young Ahoskie girls, Hennie Larabee and Elizabeth Joyner raise money to help treat highly adoptable shelter dogs for heartworms, something that PAWS cannot afford to do since the treatment is hundreds of dollars. Under the supervision of Stephanie Holt, Hennie and Elizabeth do yard sales, bake sales, and car washes to raise money for this fund. As this picture shows, Avery, now known as Savannah, has been adopted and is now living the good life with her new family on the Chesapeake Bay! Can you imagine what it is like for her. . . from a lonely, scary shelter kennel to. . . a walk on the beach!!!
