Timmy
It has been a pleasure to have Timmy become part of our family. A trip to the pet store on 11-20-10 for a bottle of shampoo for our dog, Chloe, resulted in the adoption of a wonderful and lovable orange tabby cat named Timmy. Never mind all the begging and the many "please daddy", Timmy made the choice - he was adopting us. We knew when he smooged on our faces and then climbed on my husband's back and laid there. We knew then that he was coming home with us. From his first night with us, he was part of our family. Timmy is a very playful and affectionate cat. He has the biggest eyes and he looks at us so adoringly. There are not enough words to say thank you to the Hertford County Animal Shelter. When you adopt a pet from the shelter, the pet is special because they got picked. But in our eyes and heart-----we are special because Timmy picked us.

Trigger
News from Trigger's new adopters, Jan Blossom and Captain Brenda Holdener of the USS Wasp, who adopted Trigger at PAWS' first PetSmart adoption event:
"Hello!
I wanted to send you a quick update on Trigger. As you know he is an amazing dog, he is sweet and very eager to please. He is settling in well at his forever home. He loves his morning runs on the beach and now is able to not only stare at birds but chase them too! I tried to attach a video of his first day at the beach, but it is too big to send. He still is a little leery of the “waves” but is getting his feet wet on his third day. The big priority is to teach him not to drink salt water, we are sure he will learn this very quickly as he has learned everything else we have been working with him on for the last couple of days.
He went to a dog park on his first full day in Virginia . He was completely overwhelmed at the first dog park, and so were we. We loved the second dog park, fewer dogs and some very nice owners who helped make his entry into the park much less traumatic. He quickly became the activity director and facilitated laps around the park for all the dogs.
He does very well in the car, it is not his favorite place to be but we are sure he will love it once he realizes that we go fun places, not to a new home, every time we go on a ride. . He is just amazing, we are so lucky to have him.
Thank you for what you have done for Trigger and so many other dogs, they all deserve a good life."

Ted
"Here are Ted (fawn) and Zack (white) resting easy after two months in their new home in Virginia . Two of the sweetest dogs we could ever rescue and are loved more than we can express. They give us great joy every day. Thank you PAWS for helping to bring these two boys into our lives! If Ted and Zack could talk, they would thank you, too. Merry Christmas to everyone at PAWS, two-legged and four!!" All the best, Mandy Spiller and John Tomillon
Teddy
"Hello!! :)
Just wanted to give an update on Teddy! :)
He is (finally!) worm, tick, and flea-free and has recieved all of his puppy shots!! YAY!! He is LOVING life! We have found that he LOVES water and so we bought him a kiddy pool which he splashes around in every day. At four months old, he can already sit, lay down, shake hands, roll over, stay, speak, crawl, walk on a leash next to his walker, fetch, and knows that if we say 'go lay down' he will walk over to a rug that is his and lay down for a nap. He is SO smart!! We just wanted to thank you AGAIN for allowing us to bring Teddy home. He is loved SO very much and we cannot imagine our lives without him. Thank you for the best dog in the world!! :)"
